Planning for the future is so important, and making a Will is one of the things that we probably all have on our ‘To Do’ list, and if you’ve already written your Will, it might be that you’ve been intending to review or update it for some time too.

It’s important to have an up to date Will in place, and it’s recommended that we review our Wills at least every 5 yrs or after significant changes in our lives.

If we don’t write a Will we die intestate, leaving all the decisions as to who inherits when we die up to the authorities. It’s the Rules of Intestacy dating back to 1925 that decides who inherits when we die without a Will, and can mean someone you hadn’t intended to benefit does in fact inherit, or someone you wanted to benefit ends up with nothing.

Our Wills cost only £195 for Single Wills, and £275 for mirror Wills (so 2 Wills for married couples or partners is just £275) Included in the fee is;

What happens if you don’t make a Will?

Research has highlighted that almost everyone makes the wrong assumption over who would benefit if they died without a Will.
Most married people assume their spouse ‘automatically’ inherits everything they own, with or without a Will. This is not true.
Most unmarried couples also assume that they have the same legal rights to inherit as a married couple. This is not true either.
Most married couples in their second marriage also assume any children from their previous marriage will always inherit when they die. This is not true either.
Unmarried couples have no guaranteed rights to inherit at all, and married couples can only ensure guaranteed inheritance of their entire estate from each other if there is a Will.
